New Executive Director/Curator
The Board of Directors of the Prairie Gallery Society is pleased to announce that Griffith Aaron Baker has been hired as Executive Director, effective September 1, 2014. Griffith will bring his experience as artist, lecturer, writer, and curator to the Executive Director position and the Board is excited to have found such a high caliber leader to advocate for and lead the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie.

Baker has recently served in an Executive Director capacity at two public art galleries: the Estevan Art Gallery & Museum as well as the Mann Art Gallery in Prince Albert, SK where he has been the Director / Curator since 2011. Having curated over thirty exhibitions in the past six years, Baker is no stranger to the dedication required in presenting a balanced and engaging gallery program.

The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie had been searching for a new Executive Director since March with the departure of the Art Gallery’s previous head, Robert Steven, who moved on to become the Culture and Heritage Manager with the City of Grande Prairie.
