Another 75 Million – Ashes: Bison Drawings of Adrian Stimson Redux
Opening/Closing Reception

Location: Art Gallery of Grande Prairie

The evening reception is both an opening reception to welcome the exhibit to the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, and also a closing reception because this is the final location of the travelling exhibition. The exhibition has toured all over Alberta and is retiring this year. It will be on display at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie until September 1, 2013. The public is welcome to join the artist, Adrian Stimson, and the Art Gallery for this free event.



Bison Art with Adrian Stimson: Workshops

Adrian Stimson is an artist and member of the Siksika (Blackfoot) Nation and he will be in Grande Prairie this May to lead art workshops for students. The sessions will be approx. 1.5 hours and will include a tour of the exhibition and a workshop where students will create their own painted Hydrastone plaster bison.

Registration Required
Audience: Students Grades 4 to 6
Maximum: 30 students per session
Dates: Tuesday, May 28th & Wednesday, May 29th
Times: 10:30 am – 12:00 pm / 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Location: Rotary Community Room (Montrose Cultural Centre)

The public is welcome to join the artists and curators of the Art Gallery's two newest exhibitions for an afternoon of artist presentations and a panel discussion. This is a wonderful  opportunity to meet national and internationally significant artists and curators including Tammi Campbell, Heather Benning, Mary-Anne McTrowe, Leesa Streifler, Suzy Lake and Amy Fung.

The Montrose Cultural Centre opened its doors in June 2009. It is home to the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie, the Grande Prairie Public Library and Esquires Coffee House. It is a place for the community to gather in support of the arts and literacy in Grande Prairie.
