Suzy Lake’s Whose Gaze Is It Now? is comprised of Lake’s portraits from the beginning of her career in the early seventies until the present time. They Made A Day Be A Day Here
June 7, 2013 - August 25, 2013
The exhibit focuses on new works that explore the shifting identities of artists living and working in the Canadian prairies. The 12 artists in this exhibition are largely born after 1970 and focus has been given to the wry reflections of invisibility in artistic labour production. The works assembled together for They Made A Day Be A Day Here are addressing issues of time, labour, place, and identity through mediating histories of lineages and methodologies from craft to Modernism.
