In Conversation: They Made A Day Be A Day Here & Suzy Lake
2:00 pm
Location: Rotary Community Room (Montrose Cultural Centre)

The public is welcome to join the artists and curators of the Art Gallery’s two newest exhibitions for an afternoon of artist presentations and a panel discussion. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet national and internationally significant artists and curators including Tammi Campbell, Heather Benning, Mary-Anne McTrowe, Leesa Streifler, Suzy Lake and Amy Fung.

This event is free and open to the public.

ART CLASSES

The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie currently has no art classes scheduled. Please check this page again a later date.

Update: Despite its resounding success, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie will not be providing the popular summer art camp programs during the summer of 2013. We regret that the art camps will not be available due to a variety of reasons, including that the Gallery’s new facility which opened in the Fall of 2012 poses more demands on our staff resources. We look forward to the program returning in 2014.

TOURS

Please contact by emailing programs@aggp.ca or calling Jennifer at (780) 357-7491 for more information and bookings. We require a minimum of 2 weeks advance to ensure staff availability.

Interactive art activities compliment the tours and vary according to exhibition theme, though not available with every exhibition. An interpretive guide is often available for self-guided tours of the exhibition.

THE GREEN SPACE

The Green Space is currently being used for exhibition and will open at a later in 2013.

We’re happy to announce the Green Space is coming back! Due to construction, the gallery has been without adequate space for our interactive gallery for over a year. A great addition to the Green Space is the Wall of Wonder. It’s a custom designed, interactive cabinet of curiosity featuring artworks from the gallery’s permanent collection.

Since September 2009, we have dedicated a space in the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie to the interactive exploration of and response to art. Visitors of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy responding to the gallery’s current exhibitions through free art activities that are designed to encourage reflection and inspiration.
