Self Published: Zine Workshop – Saturday September 12th, 2026. 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Self-Published: Zine Workshop is a free, all-ages zine-making workshop for Alberta Culture Days. The program will introduce participants to zines as small, DIY publications that combine writing, drawing, collage, comics, poetry, reviews, personal stories, and other forms of creative expression.

Although open to all ages, the workshop’s examples, prompts, and atmosphere will be designed primarily to engage youth and young adults. Children under 14 can participate with a supporting adult.

Presented in partnership with the Grande Prairie Public Library the workshop will provide a welcoming, low-pressure studio environment, where participants can work independently, socialize with other makers, and complete a zine. Participants will also have the option to donate copies of their finished zine to help stock the Grande Prairie Public Library’s new Zine Collection where community members can discover and share their zines
