THE CURVE : Community Art Installation

Thank you to all Peace Region residents for contributing their creative responses to the COVID-19 global health crisis in this special art exhibition, The Curve.
The Curve is a multi-disciplinary community art installation, exhibited through the summer of 2020 at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie. It honours those in the Peace Region who passed, who served, and who lived through the largest public health pandemic in generations. The Curve has the power to echo and connect all human experiences. It continued to grow and evolve as pieces were contributed to the overall exhibition.

We commissioned four local artists to create a piece to be displayed in The Curve, we are proud to acquire them as permanent fixtures in the Gallery’s Permanent Collection.

Our Traveling Exhibition Program, TREX and the AFA has contributed Uncharted in The Curve.
Uncharted is a digital exhibition of artworks curated from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Collection in response to the novel coronavirus – COVID 19. ‘Novel’ meaning ‘new’ (and derived from the Latin word ‘novus’) is a word that aptly describes the times we have all been navigating these past few months, and that we move forward in.
