Since 1980, the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie has held an annual art auction to raise funds for its core operations and programming. This fundraiser, supported by artists, businesses and the local community, is a celebration of the transformative power of the Arts, and acknowledges the important placement of the Gallery in our community.

Dear Art Gallery of Grande Prairie members and supporters,
We hope this message finds you well. After careful consideration and evaluation of the current circumstances, we have made the decision to forgo this year’s annual art auction. We understand that this event has been a cherished tradition for many of you.
However, we are excited to announce that we will be shifting our focus to the planning of AGGP’s 50th anniversary celebration. This significant milestone provides us with a unique opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate our achievements, and look towards the future with renewed vigour and commitment.
Our 50th anniversary celebration will be a momentous occasion, and we are dedicated to making it a memorable and meaningful event for our entire community. We will be forming a planning committee to oversee operations and ensure that every aspect of the celebration reflects the spirit and values of AGGP.
Your ongoing support and participation in this event will be invaluable. We will be providing regular updates and announcements regarding the 50th anniversary celebration, as we work towards this milestone. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued support. Together, we will make our 50th anniversary celebration a truly unforgettable experience.
Sincerely,
Terry Gorgichuk

We acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 8 territory—the ancestral Land of the sovereign Dane-zaa, Nehiyawak, Dene, and Otipemisiwak Nations. We acknowledge the many Indigenous Peoples who have lived and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude.
The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie also recognizes that Land Acknowledgments are not enough. Through our actions we commit to truth, reconciliation, decolonization, and allyship in support of Indigenous lifeways and wellbeing.
