Adopt an Artwork Campaign
Overview
The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie is launching a refreshed version of our Art Loan Program: the OurCollection campaign. Launching March 2026, this initiative invites businesses and art enthusiasts across the City and surrounding region to sponsor artworks for display in their spaces.
Think of this as a friendly matchmaking service between local businesses, community members, and lonely artworks looking for a temporary home. This reimagining of our former art-loan program ensures that works from our Permanent Collection can be appreciated by the communities we serve during our temporary closure.
Purpose
- To increase visibility of the permanent collection
- To strengthen our partnership with local businesses and our community
- To generate modest revenue for help with conservation and programming
- To engage the public through accessible art experiences while our gallery is closed for renovations
Who should adopt?
This program is designed for businesses and art enthusiasts who want:
- To have artwork of regional and historical significance where they work and live
- To spark conversation and provide moments for contemplation and inspiration
- To make art accessible to everyone in our community, no matter where that is
- To introduce the public to artists in their community
- To support the preservation, documentation and long-term care of our collection
- To meaningfully, directly help the AGGP during our closure
What responsibilities do participants have?
We ask that you take good care of the artwork you adopt by following the instructions and guidelines given by Gallery personnel. These artworks are precious and cannot be replaced: we want to keep them safe and in the best condition possible for future generations across time.
Sponsorship Tiers
The Minimalist – 1 Artwork ($500)
You host one artwork. Price includes professional installation, label, recognition on the website and in the Annual Report.
The Curator – 2 Artworks ($1,000)
Receive two artworks: Includes professional installation, label, recognition on website and in the Annual Report.
The Art Star – 3 Artworks ($1,500)
Full-year engagement with three artworks; highest level of visibility and recognition including mention in our social media and online videos produced by M3M.
All rentals have a 6-month term. At the end of the term, you are allowed to renew for another period of 6-months at the price of your original donation. At this time, you are also allowed to swap artworks or change your sponsorship tier.
Artwork Availability
58 artworks will be available for this cycle, pre-curated for safe and professional display, available in 6-month terms with the option to renew, exchange or return at the end of the rental period.
Sponsor Benefits
- All sponsors receive free professional installation and deinstallation
- Artworks are artfully labelled with your business name
- Your business receives digital promotion alongside your adopted artwork (artwork image first, followed in second slide by business information)
- Recognition on social media
- A tax receipt
Events and Engagement
Depending on Gallery capacity and sponsor interest and availability, there is the possibility of arranging additional activities like meet and greets, question and answer sessions, tours, and so on.
Participation Process
- Select sponsorship level: works are available on a first-come, first-serve basis
- Choose artwork(s)
- AGGP staff install
- Six-month rotation (if applicable)
- Renewal opportunity
- Return
