We are happy to assist you with the preparations of your group’s visit to our current and upcoming exhibitions and invite you to explore them through our guided, self-guided or art retreat programs. Tours are free of charge & 1.5 Hr Art Programs which include a hands-on take home art project are FREE of charge thanks to ATB Financial.
This program includes a facilitated tour with a take-home hands-on art project inspired by current exhibitions. Hands-on art projects emphasize a contemporary mixed-media approach. The projects are age-appropriate and based on the principles and elements of art and design. These experiential components allow for student’s own experience of the exhibitions to be enhanced and grounded.
Self-guided tours are available during our regular opening hours. Visiting with your group is free. If you are an organization planning to visit the Art Gallery with your group of 9 visitors or more, please contact us 2 – 4 weeks prior to your visit.
Enjoy the day with your students at the Art Gallery. This custom-designed educational initiative allows for an extraordinary experience of making and sharing art in a nurturing environment. Engagement with our current exhibitions and take-home hands-on art projects are included as suitable to your group.
Duration: Half – Full day, as agreed with Art Gallery of Grande Prairie’s Curator of Learning.

We acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 8 territory—the ancestral Land of the sovereign Dane-zaa, Nehiyawak, Dene, and Otipemisiwak Nations. We acknowledge the many Indigenous Peoples who have lived and cared for these lands for generations. We are grateful for the traditional Knowledge Keepers and Elders who are still with us today and those who have gone before us. We make this acknowledgement as an act of reconciliation and gratitude.
The Art Gallery of Grande Prairie also recognizes that Land Acknowledgments are not enough. Through our actions we commit to truth, reconciliation, decolonization, and allyship in support of Indigenous lifeways and wellbeing.
