Mighty Peace Teachers Convention Online This Year

PROGRAMMING FOR TEACHERS @ AGGP
Art education at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie enriches our community, encourages diversity and inspires creative learning.

BOOK A GUIDED OR SELF-GUIDED TOUR
Once we re-open, we are happy to assist you again with the preparations of your group’s visit to our current and upcoming exhibitions and invite you to explore them through a guided or self-guided program. Tours are free of charge. Art programs which include a hands-on take home art project are FREE of charge thanks to ATB Financial this year.

NEW!!! MEET THE ARTIST  VIRTUAL EXHIBITION TOUR WITH FREE ART ACTIVITY KIT
We are pleased to offer a new series called Meet the Artist. With this resource, you will be able to take your class on a virtual tour with the artist, through their exhibition at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie. We have created this program for you to be able to ‘visit’ the Art Gallery in the comfort of your classroom. After your class has watched the virtual exhibition tour, you can facilitate the art project inspired by the artist’s exhibition with our FREE art activity kits.

Our first MEET THE ARTIST  VIRTUAL EXHIBITION TOUR is with local artist Carmen Haakstad featuring his exhibition Domino VI. SCULPT  is the activity that comes with Carmen’s virtual tour.

Please email jamie-lee@aggp.ca or call 780-357-7480 so we can send you the link for the Meet the Artist Virtual Exhibition Tour video and coordinate the delivery of the FREE art activity kits to your location with you.

ART AT HOME
Now you can engage with art in our community, online and from any location. Here you’ll find one time projects, ongoing series and invitations to learn, create and share through the site. Posts made through the Gallery’s social channels (FacebookInstagramTwitter) will update you on new content as it comes forward, so make sure you like and follow us. You can also subscribe to our newsletter to get the latest updates delivered to your inbox.

TREX (Travelling Exhibitions)
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) has supported a provincial travelling exhibition program (TREX) since 1981 to provide every Albertan with the opportunity to enjoy visual art exhibitions in their community. The TREX program promotes Albertan art and artists through professionally developed exhibitions for use in schools, libraries, hospitals and visitor centres, and other community venues. Each exhibition comes with an educational booklet.
